NORFOLK CLASSROOM OF THE FUTURE PROJECT
Three pilot projects will be developed as part of the Norfolk classroom of the future: three stand-alone classrooms sited at one secondary school (the early design of which is shown here) and two primaries. They will be attempts to develop solutions to the problem of providing and sustaining the educational needs of pupils attending small rural schools, and to counter isolation in such communities. High-tech links will be set up between the primaries and the secondary school to enable, for example, video-conferencing between schools, allowing specialists to teach larger groups or individuals in other schools. The secondary school already has links with schools in France and Germany. The project will also address the existing rural community's general lack of services such as access to banking, libraries, cinemas.
