This is a major refurbishment and extension project, part of a city-wide PFI project. The pre-existing school had a traditional central staff room, but it was decided that better use could be made of the available space if it was replaced by departmental staff bases. These bases have work places with ICT provision as well as refreshment facilities. Staff are adjusting to the new idea. In order to prevent isolation they plan to arrange regular all-staff social events.
