Tempus Fugit
Our transformation takes you through the life of a person in a series of still photographs with text, from birth to death. As time goes by (shown by the scene in the background changes) we show that a person would transform, by using different actors walking across the foreground. We used similar clothes, however throughout the entire piece to show that some things always stay the same.
We were: Claire Freake, Stephanie Hunt, Chris Blunt and John Leverett (with input from Mr Phil Winter)
Schools were: Langley Park School for Girls and Ravenswood school for boys
Process: We developed our final idea from a much simpler one involving a slide, which we had a originally used as a practice. This ideas basic concept was that as the actor climbed up and slide down they gradually changed into somebody else, because we unamiously agreed that we liked it, so we developed it into a walk through life.
While we were shooting the photos, we had to ask permission to use several locations such as the Pub, the Hospital, the bedrooms department of Habitat and Old peoples Home. However a few photos we had originally planned to take, we could not due to the fact that permission was denied, but because we found other locations we had not thought of, though, we ended up with about the same amount of pictures.
We decided in the end to have two photos of each scene, to firstly show the movement across the screen and also so that in the first frame the audience can concentrate on the text, whereas in the second frame the audience can focus on the setting of the photo.
The music we chose was Changes by David Bowie, which we felt really felt completed the piece. !
