Time and tide......wait for no man!

A series of digital images which portray the transformation of a sand castle decaying with time.

It shows the tide destroying the castle and ends with only sea where the castle had stood.

We were: Tom, Jack, Rob and Catherine

Schools were: Langley Park school for girls, The Ravensbourne school and Ravenswood

Process: Our group, arrogantly titled "the best group in the world (probably)" planned an excursion to the south coast to capture the tide.

With an early start our group arrived at the sea only to find that the sea was futher up the beach than the tide table had said. We quickly set up and started to take our photographs. The camera's memmory could only hold a certain number of images and so once we had used up this amount we realised that we had to down load. We needed to protect the castle from the sea and so we built a foot-high wall around it.

We were allowed to use a beach hut to download the pictures. As soon as they were done we destroyed the wall and carried on taking the photos.

To add depth to the sequence we included a relavent musical track called "The lure of the sea" -by The Beautiful South. (Not Rob's idea!!!!)!

and here is our sequence of images:
