Learning in the New Millennium Phase One (1993 - 1997)

Schools were given multimedia computers, modems, internet connection and conferencing software As a result everyone who took part in phase one could:

•  have their own individual identity the public face of which they could determine via resumes
• communicate across age, gender and institutional boundaries
• concentrate on asynchronous communications allowing considered responses
• originate, respond to and/or direct discussions
• use the internet as a tool to research and develop ideas

 ...which was quite radical back in the early days of the project!
