The Harbour Office

Situated on the waterside close to the Town Hard, Brightlingsea Harbour Office is open weekdays from 0900 - 1600 hrs. At other times it is advisable to make an appointment as attendance outside these hours is dependent on the level of activity in the Harbour.

As well as answering Harbour related queries, the office also houses a small tourist information service where you can collect literature on a wide range of local activities and places to visit, as well as enquiring about public transport or local accommodation.

Harbour staff can be contacted on V.H.F Channel 68 from 0800 – 2000 hrs (or dusk if earlier) during peak season and 0800 – 1600 hrs out of season. When the office in unmanned a message can be left on the answer phone on 01206 302200 and your call will be returned as soon as possible.

Harbour Staff

The Harbour Team is headed up by the Chief Executive and Harbour Master, who are assisted by a team of Assistant Harbour Masters and Harbour Assistants who work on a rota basis. The octagonal hut at the entrance to the Town Hard is manned at weekends throughout the year and on weekdays during high season. The Hard Master is responsible for the Hard and collecting fees related to its use and can assist with other harbour related enquiries.
