Introduction
Find out here about the 'building blocks' of language and adapt phrases you've learned to suit your own purposes. Discover how German actually works by considering the English language too - equivalent structures are listed side-by-side. Examples are mainly from the 'Und so weiter!' story.
Explanations are kept to a minimum in order to encourage you to analyse the language yourself. Keep going back to the story to consider the examples in context - and collect some more examples of your own! If you find the grammar jargon difficult, have a look at the guide to grammar terms.
