Finding the way
Andreas relies on passers-by to assist him in finding the way. A little closer to a major town he could have found a lay-by with a handy map.
Accommodation
Generally, information on places to stay can be obtained from any Fremden-verkehrsbüro (Tourist Information).
A hotel recommended by the German Automobile Association (ADAC) has a star rating.
- Accommodation is usually paid for by the room rather than by the person. Make sure by asking: 'Is the price per person or for the room?' - 'Ist der Preis pro Person oder für das Zimmer?'
- Breakfast can be charged separately and need not be taken at the hotel.
Guest houses provide a relaxed and family type atmosphere.You can sometimes get an evening meal there and it's worth knowing how to ask: 'Do you serve evening meals?' - 'Servieren Sie Abendessen?'
A Pension may not accept payment by credit card! So when you book the room you should ask: 'Do you take credit cards?' - 'Akeptieren Sie Kreditkarten?'
